This project was designed for APS Grand Opening Program.
In the summer of 2022, APS moved to the Hapeville art district. APS board members dedicated to encouraging more people to learn about print art and attract local artists to join APS by launching the grand opening program.
The APS Grand Opening campaign aimed to promote APS art events and express APS's confidence in integrating into the highly activated and open art community.
Research & Thingking Stepts:
-
APS is a part of “Hapeville’s Home for the Arts” and its mission is to provide high-quality but accessible art for the community. In order to demonstrate this concept, Hapeville’s signatures should be included in the visual materials.
"Hapeville is a Main Street city known for its vibrant arts culture and eclectic dining experiences. The historic downtown area features a sprawling park, newly renovated theatre, shops, and restaurants, as well as unique displays of artistic expression – including sculptures, murals, and the city’s signature butterflies – lending Hapeville its “A Home for the Arts” signature tagline. "
-
The new APS studio has a stylish exterior, and the 3000 sq ft interior space planning is exciting.
"The new APS building was once a 1950’s Amoco gas station and is currently being renovated to reflect the original 1950’s design. The 3000 sq ft dream studio will allow for more presses and equipment. Another benefit will be heat and air to provide a more comfortable environment, and anyone who has been to the current studio during the summer or winter will know how great this news is! Other amenities include better parking and the ability to walk to the restaurants and shops of Hapeville. "

The charming texture of printing tools recreated the fun and enjoyment process of printmaking
"I observed every corner of the studio, the rough printing paper, heavy iron-cast printing equipment, and long-used paint buckets. Feel the creative state of the artists. I try to express abstract feelings with visual language."

Inspired by the printmaking working process, I arranged visual elements layer by layer on the canvas to simulate different overlay effects.
